If you prefer to lounge poolside in relative peace and quiet, there is a second pool behind The Main House. Constructed in the 1980s by a previous owner of the property, the 85×25-foot pool ranges from four to eight feet deep and affords a breathtaking view of the Ogeechee River. The bottom of The Main House pool is black, making the surface of the water highly-reflective. The result is a stunning mirror image of the back of The Main House. In addition, the black bottom absorbs sunlight creating a natural heating effect for the pool.
Located in the Lake Dye Grill/Sports Barn complex, the family swimming pool is the center of life at The Ford Plantation in the spring, summer, and early fall. The main pool measures 75×37 ft and includes a dedicated lap lane. The Lake Dye complex also includes an 11×12-foot kids’ pool and a 9×12-foot hot tub. On-site locker rooms feature showers, towels, and an assortment of personal care items for members’ needs. Dining service is available inside Lake Dye Grill, on the porch, and poolside.
